New York City-based performing arts organization CreArtBox and Parhelion Trio presents a new production titled a?oeBilitisa?? that includes the staging of Claude Debussy's Chansons de Bilitis, featuring actor Jacopo Rampini, a world premiere by Seong Ae Kim, and music by Philip Glass, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Camille Saint-Saëns.

Tesla Quartet and Clarinetist Alexander Fiterstein Release Joy & Desolation On Orchid Classics

On Friday, October 18, 2019, the award-winning Tesla Quartet (Ross Snyder & Michelle Lie, violins; Edwin Kaplan, viola; Serafim Smigelskiy, cello) releases its second album, Joy & Desolation, on Orchid Classics. The record features performances of Mozart's Clarinet Quintet in A Major, K581; Gerald Finzi's Five Bagatelles arranged by Christian Alexander; John Corigliano's Soliloquy (1995); and Carolina Heredia's Ius in Bello (2014) with acclaimed clarinetist Alexander Fiterstein. The program on Joy & Desolation is all about contrasts: the duality of light and darkness, joy and despair, isolation and inclusion. Recorded at idyllic Wyastone, a retired concert hall nestled along the River Wye in England, the Tesla Quartet and Alexander Fiterstein used this recording as an opportunity to dive deeper into their art and to explore how they make music together.

With this autumn tour called Final Edition the company will embark on its farewell tour across the UK, giving its loyal audiences a last chance to see a live performance by what is undoubtedly one of the world's best dance ensembles. The Richard Alston Dance Company will sadly cease to operate in April 2020.

Lambert Jackson Productions today announce full casting for Dr Zhivago a?" The UK Concert Première. Joining the previously announced Ramin Karimloo (Yurii Andreyevich Zhivago) and Celinde Schoenmaker (Lara Guishar) are Rhys Bailey (Young Yurii, Sasha), Maisey Bawden (Olya), Isabella Djuve-Wood (Young Lara), Emma De-Anne Edwards (Anna Gromeko), Darcy Jacobs (Young Tonia), Kelly Mathieson (Tonia Gromeko), Charlie McCullagh (Pasha Antipov, Strelnikov), Matthew Woodyatt (Viktor Komarovksy), and Trinity Laban Musical Theatre as the ensemble. The production takes place at Cadogan Hall, on Sunday 1 September, 2pm and 6.30pm.

OGCMA Presents Vieness Piano Duo At The Great Auditorium

The only thing better than one brilliant classical pianist is two - which is precisely what will be presented when OGCMA's 'SUMMER STARS CLASSICAL SERIES' continues with the accomplished VIENESS PIANO DUO. They'll hold court in The Great Auditorium on Thursday, July 25th at 7:30pm. OGCMA's 150th anniversary season continues to offer the Jersey Shore's only summer classical music offerings and this concert promises to deliver twice the classical delight. Grammy Award-winning American organist Paul Jacobs-deemed 'a grand New York institution' by James R. Oestreich of The New York Times (February 18, 2018)- will launch the fall season by highlighting the organ on the New York concert scene, performing in a three-recital series for solo organ in September 2019. Although months in the planning, these French programs assumed new meaning the night of April 15 to 16, 2019, when the Grand Organ of Notre-Dame Cathedral survived the devastating inferno in Paris.

Renowned pianist and pedagogue Leon Fleisher has updated the program for his celebratory 90th birthday recital at Carnegie Hall today, February 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Zankel Hall to include works by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, and Mozart, along with two selections by Leon Kirchner. Joining Mr. Fleisher on stage are notable friends and colleagues, Jonathan Biss and Yefim Bronfman, whom Mr. Fleisher has mentored throughout his illustrious career. Mr. Fleisher will also be joined by special guests the Dover Quartet and Rachel Calin on bass. The evening's revised program reflects the repertoire that Mr. Fleisher wished to put forth for this celebratory occasion. Full program information is listed below.

Peter Oundjian Appointed Music Director Of Colorado Music Festival; 2019 Concert Season Announced

The Colorado Music Festival today announced the appointment of conductor Peter Oundjian as its next Music Director. He is the fourth person to hold this title in the 42-year history of the festival, which is held for six weeks each year at the Colorado Chautauqua, a National Historic Landmark at the foot of the rugged Flatirons. Mr. Oundjian led the 2018 festival as Artistic Advisor, and his appointment as Music Director was announced along with the festival's 2019 season, which runs from June 27 to August 3 and explores the legacy of Beethoven.

NYCO & NYTF To Produce World Premiere Of DEAR ERICH

New York City Opera has announced that it will produce the world premiere of the award-winning jazz composer/pianist Ted Rosenthal's DEAR ERICH.  This new jazz opera, to be co-produced with the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, will open Wednesday, January 9 and will play four performances only through Sunday, January 13 at the Edmond J. Safra Hall at 36 Battery Place, in lower Manhattan.
