The Ford Theatres today announced the 2019 season of events at the John Anson Ford Theatres. The 2019 season will open on Saturday, April 27 with The Spring Quartet: Jack DeJohnette, Joe Lovano, Esperanza Spalding and Leo Genovese, who The Arts Desk described as "an expansive, freewheeling rampage, ideas flying out like sparks from a roaring fire," and will conclude on October 19 and 20 with a Dia de los Muertos Concert and Community Celebration. The winners of the 48th annual George London Foundation Awards Competition for young American and Canadian opera singers were announced at the conclusion of the competition's final round this evening, which took place before an enthusiastic audience at Gilder Lehrman Hall at The Morgan Library & Museum in New York City.

Paul Taylor-Mills and Mercury Theatre Colchester in association with Tamasha Theatre Company have announced casting for their brand-new production of Ain't Misbehavin' - the first London revival in almost 25 years - playing at Southwark Playhouse from Friday 19 April to Saturday 1 June, following its premiere at Mercury Theatre Colchester from Friday 15 - Saturday 30 March. The Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland Play House MFA Acting Program is proud to present Noel Coward's classic comedy Hay Fever. This madcap play about a weekend with the eccentric Bliss family will star the MFA Class of 2020 and a guest performer.  Director Jerrold Scott's production will take the audience back to the 1920's and remind them of the joy of life and fear of boredom. The show will run from February 27th-March 9th in Helen Theatre at Playhouse Square.

A Blank stage is set to adorn a combination of a house on one side and what will soon become the work stations of the women in this production. On the projection behind the set were words written to strike a chord with incoming audience members, "If one woman were to tell the truth about her life, the world would split open." These wise words from Muriel Rukyster were the only thing standing between the audience and the works to be portrayed on the stage this night. In the program, Founder and Director Fran Powers wrote, "Directing These Shining Lives has been a project of the heart. "It is vitally important to keep honoring courageous women who sacrificed so much for others." This is the foundation of the Powerstories Theatre mission."With that the scene is set and a whirlwind 90 minutes set to no intermission was about to unfold in front of us.

PIGALLE, the latest circus cabaret creation from director Craig Ilott makes it's Sydney debut in the beautiful Magic Mirrors Spiegeltent for Sydney Festival.

'19: The Musical' is the brainchild of Through the 4th Wall co-founders, Jennifer Schwed and Doug Bradshaw. Both DC natives, Schwed and Bradshaw conceived the idea of a musical about the passage of the 19th Amendment back in 2016, and have been overseeing workshops and concert performances for a little over a year, with an eye toward a full production in time for the Amendment's centennial in 2020.

The full house on Opening Night was treated to a hilarious farce encased in a visually authentic wrapping of superb set and costumes.

Eowyn Ivey's debut novel The Snow Child is reborn as a magical new musical featuring a score that combines Alaskan string-band traditions and contemporary musical theater. On November 17t, SubCulture will present the show in a concert adaptation featuring KATE BALDWIN, MATT BOGART, FINA STRAZZA, GERARD CANONICO, SALLY MAYES and WILLIAM PARRY.

Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), the professional nonprofit theatre company in Roswell, is throwing a huge bash on Saturday, October 13, 2018, for its annual fundraiser. They are creating their own 1920s Speakeasy for this special night, so it's all very hush-hush (wink).

The Philip K. Dick European Science Fiction Film Festival has announced its full schedule for the fifth annual celebration spotlighting the brilliance of legendary novelist Philip K. Dick. Pushing the boundaries of storytelling through remarkable feature and short films and virtual reality, the festival will be held October 25-26 at L'Hybride and Inoui in Lille, France and November 1-2 at Film Club 813 e.V. in Cologne, Germany.

Premiere Stages at Kean University will present Martin Casella's 'Black Tom Island' from October 11 to October 21 at the 1882 Carriage House, Liberty Hall Museum. Broadwayworld.com had the pleasure of interviewing Casella about his career and the upcoming show.
