Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center will brighten January with its annual Gala. Light Up The Night will once again give audiences an incredible event to celebrate Uptown. Saturday, January 14 at 5:30pm audiences will gather at the Chester County History Center for signature cocktails, hors d'oeuvres by local native, “Big Chef”  and Food Network Star Tom Pizzica of Philly Hots, live music from the Uptown! Singers, fun photos and a silent auction.

Music Theater Works has announced single tickets go on sale Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023 at 11 a.m. for its first two productions in its 43rd season of productions, Avenue Q, March 9 – April 2, and Pippin, June 1 – June 25, at the North Shore Center For The Performing Arts In Skokie, 9501 Skokie Blvd.

The full cast has been announced for the upcoming Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, starring Tony and Grammy-nominated multi-platinum recording artist Josh Groban (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) and Tony Award winner Annaleigh Ashford (Sunday in the Park with George).

New York City Ballet’s 2023 Winter Season – January 17 through February 26 – will feature performances of 17 ballets performed by New York City Ballet’s 100 dancers and apprentices and the 62-piece New York City Ballet Orchestra.

While the series' recurring cast includes Tom Selleck, Bridget Moynahan, Donnie Wahlberg, and more, guest stars have included Audra McDonald, Kelli O'Hara, Joanna Gleason, Adrienne Warren, Jinkx Monsoon, Norm Lewis, Norbert Leo Butz, and more. Performance Space New York has announced the Spring 2023 season of its Healing Series, the second part of its year-long reflection on the political potency of healing and the role performance plays in it, in the midst of what feels like a momentous shift in art-making to foreground modes and practices of care.

Performance Space New York presents Moriah Evans: Remains Persist, a performance exploring and excavating the body's internal, imperceptible, and at times immaterial remains, December 10, 11, 17, 18 in the Keith Haring Theatre (150 1st Avenue, New York).

According to a post on her official Twitter account, Broadway and film actress Irene Cara, who played the role of Coco Hernandez in the movie FAME, has passed away at age 63 in her home in Florida. The cause of death has not yet been released.

The Nederlander Organization will officially rename the Brooks Atkinson Theatre as the Lena Horne Theatre  on Tuesday, November 1, in honor of the iconic entertainer and civil rights activist, becoming the first Broadway theatre to be named for a Black woman.

Inis Nua Theatre Company will open its 19th season with the American premiere of 10 Dates With Mad Mary, written by Yasmine Akram. This comedy play tells the story of Mary McArdle, an antisocial young woman trying to find a date for her best friend’s wedding. The show runs from October 26, 2022 until November 6, for a total of eight performances.

Throughout her 60-year career, Lynn achieved the highest level of success with over 50 Top 10 Hits including “Fist City,” “You Ain’t Woman Enough,” “You’re Lookin’ At Country,” “Don’t Come Home A Drinking,” “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” and more. Lynn also recorded legendary duets with The Wilburne Brothers, Ernest Tubb, and Conway Twitty.

Fresh off the critically-acclaimed world premiere of Lavender Men in Los Angeles, Kilroys List honoree Roger Q. Mason will return to New York with a special public reading of their newest play Hide and Hide, presented as part of the Breaking the Binary Theatre Festival at Theatre Row on Wednesday, October 12 at 7pm.
