The Village, A Disco Musical! is extending its hit engagement at Dixon Place after its first week of sell-out performances. Originally scheduled to run through Saturday, October 15, the production will add performances on Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 22 at 7:30 PM.

Austin’s oldest film festival, aGLIFF has announced the Queer Spectrum screenings for October and November 2022, along with special events and community screenings throughout both months.

Dixon Place will present The Village, A Disco Musical! for a limited run engagement opening tonight – Thursday, October 6 – and running through Saturday, October 15. A meta musical comedy filled with high jinx, low kinks, and go-go boys, the show features a cast of ten diverse actors and dancers.

MCC Theater has announced the return of their full in-person season for the MCC Youth Company and Student Matinee programs after operating remotely and in a hybrid program for the last two seasons. Chris St John has been on a whirlwind journey. Having been a singer songwriter and guitar player for decades, and he recently decided to share his music with the world, rattling off hit after hit on the International and United States independent charts. He began his formal music career by producing a song about wanting to leave the suburban life to live a life in the country with a horse named Reagan. The song was written shortly after returning from a 650 head cattle roundup in Jackson Hole, Wyoming at the beginning of the pandemic. 

Award-winning actor/director Frank Ferrante re-creates his acclaimed New York and London stage portrayal celebrating America's greatest comedian - Groucho Marx.  You will feel as though Groucho is back, as Ferrante sings, dances and performs classic routines on the North Coast Rep stage, May 2nd & 3rd, 2022 at 7:30pm.

When I heard the montage of 80s music blaring and saw the beautiful African-American art donning the Arkansas Repertory Theatre lobby, I knew SCHOOL GIRLS; OR THE AFRICAN MEAN GIRLS PLAY by Jocelyn Bioh, which is playing through March 20, was going to be awesome (80s slang intended)! Set in Ghana at the Aburi Girls' boarding school in 1986, the play touches on social nerves like familial status, school hierarchy, and color of the skin. Directed by Sha Cage, this group of storytellers told a tale that still rings true today.

 California Symphony and Music Director Donato Cabrera present the World Premiere of California Symphony's Young American Composer-in-Residence (2017-2020) Katherine Balch's Illuminate, the centerpiece of a program titled French Impressions. Mezzo-soprano Kelly Guerra and sopranos Molly Netter and Alexandra Smither, who were personally selected by the composer, will perform this new work.
