by A.A. Cristi - Dec 6, 2018

As part of a yearlong developmental series, Hi, Mom! brings multiple playwrights together to shed insight and humor to the massive topic of today's environmental crisis by creating a monologue-style play that features the untold, or unheard, stories of many of the characters who are affected. This project, conceived by Naked Light Productions founder Laura Delhauer, incorporates a range of voices and viewpoints: from the activist to the oil man to the sea turtle as it aspires to highlight the humanity in all of us. As Delhauer explains 'I wanted to create a company for storytellers. People who want to start productive conversations by touching hearts, by making people laugh, by amplifying the lesser heard voices or perspectives within a given topic. I think the only way we're going to stand up against issues as massive as the climate crisis is by listening, and being willing to see things through the eyes of others and letting that inspire us to function as more compassionate and proactive inhabitants of this planet.'
