BWW Review: TIMON OF ATHENS, RSC Swan Theatre
by Gary Naylor - Dec 14, 2018

Timon of Athens, at times a clunky collaboration and a clunkier mix of verse and prose, has much to say about how money corrupts and how spoiling adults is about as advisable as spoiling children. There's something of King Lear about it - but probably not enough.

by Tori Hartshorn - Nov 16, 2018

Singer/songwriter/composer Coby Brown's brand new video “Tokyo” has its exclusive worldwide premiere via Vents Magazine today; check it outhere. Of the path that led to the making of the video, Coby Brown explained, “The director, Rennie Solis, and I had been talking about making a video forever. I'd just finished recording 'Tokyo' and it seemed like an obvious candidate for a video to us both. We kept thinking of versions we could shoot domestically, but to no avail. Rennie suggested we just go shoot something in Tokyo, but between work and kids it seemed like a long shot. But then the Universe stepped in. We went to a work event for my wife where Delta was one of the sponsors. The sponsors all had games and were giving away gifts. We were getting ready to leave when someone said, 'you guys should go play the Delta game, my friend just won a trip to Shanghai.' As soon as I heard that, I bee-lined over there.

The Descendents Come to Boulder Theatre
by Stephi Wild - Feb 13, 2018

The DESCENDENTS invented pop punk. Overstatement? Perhaps, but spend ten minutes scanning FM or the idiot box and you're bound to witness a ditty or video that tips its hat to a musical genre that was refined to a high art -- if not created outright -- by the 'Dents. Formed in 1978 against the fertile musical backdrop of Los Angeles' South Bay scene (see: Black Flag, Minutemen, SST Records, etc.), the caffeine-addled crew released their first 7' single 'Ride The Wild' as a trio in 1979. Not long after, the boys recruited one Milo Aukerman (microbiology Ph.D. in waiting and poster boy for adolescent ne'er-do-well alienation) for vocal duties.
