Oh Coward! celebrates one of the theatre's greatest entertainers-Noël Coward. Best known for his comic masterpieces Blithe Spirit, Private Lives and Hay Fever, Coward was one of the most prolific songwriters of his day.

The Signalman was Charles Dickens' final completed work, written after the writer himself had survived a train crash. This adaptation by Martin Malcolm ('Warped' - VAULT Festival 2019) remains faithful to the original text but also incorporates other aspects of Dickens' writing, including the introduction of Joe the crossing sweeper, who listens as the signalman's tale unfolds.

He asks along his friends, Dr. and Mrs. Bradman, intending to gather character inspiration from Madame Arcati for his latest book. Despite initially thinking the seance has been a failure, it soon becomes clear that Madame Arcati has unwittingly brought back Charles' first wife, Elvira, to haunt him. Once in his house, Elvira is unable to leave and, as she cannot be seen or heard by Ruth, she causes all kinds of mischievous trouble between the married couple. Intensely funny and character-driven, Blithe Spirit combines farce, emotion, and wit to great effect.

Remember Henry Albertson? Sure, you do. He's that ancient, arthritic, fragile/agile but eternally game actor who traveled by stage trunk from scene to scene throughout the longest-running musical of all time, 'The Fantasticks.' You may even remember during one exit, just as the lid was closing, he managed to peer urgently out of the trunk at the audience and implore them, with proper theatrical flourish, 'Remember me -- in light.'
