Your Grace at Idiom Theatre

Elizabeth Regina, Virgin Queen of England, France, and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, etc., is frustrated. Assassination plots are everywhere. Enemy nations threaten to invade. Her own advisors keep nagging her to choose a husband. I swear, a person could sink an entire Armada, and all they’d get for their pains is, That’s very nice, Your Majesty, but when can we expect an heir? But an heir is unlikely, because, to top it all off, she has never gotten laid. Like, ever. To be honest, she’s not that into men, but what else is there?

Meanwhile, in Ireland, Granuaile (Not A Virgin) O’Malley, chieftain of the O’Malleys, widow, mother,  pirate, rebel, and all-around baller girl, is sharpening her sword. The English invaders, led by that heathen queen of theirs, keep demanding taxes and fealty, but Granuaile is not minded to give them either. Has she gotten laid? Yes. Yes, she has. Many times. Many, many… You get the idea. Does she have an heir? Yes, and two spares. Has she sunk even a single ship? Funny you should ask...

When word reaches the English court that an Irish rebel chieftain has defied the tax collectors and fought off a fleet of English ships, and by the way this chieftain is A WOMAN, the courtiers are outraged. The royal advisors are incensed. And all Elizabeth can think is, That is so. Hot.

Worlds collide in this uproarious historical fantasy, as two mortal enemies find unexpected kinship in their common fight for power and pleasure in a man’s world.
