Storytelling and science collide with hilarious and devastating consequences in Bess Wohl’s cynical environmental comedy, Continuity. This “play in six takes” (from the playwright of recent Broadway hit Liberation and Tony-nominated Grand Horizons) makes its Pacific Northwest premiere May 7-23, at 12th Avenue Arts.
A sheet of ice sits in the desert of New Mexico. A mad eco-terrorist plants a bomb in order to save humankind. A beleaguered film crew tries to get in one last shot before losing the light. Called “smart, funny, and powerful,” by New York Magazine, Continuity interrogates the role of storytelling in a world on the brink of actual environmental crisis and asks "How do we keep going when hope can seem as fictional as a Hollywood ending?" and also, "What's for lunch?"
Continuity runs May 7-23 (see the full performance schedule here). Tiered tickets, ranging from $10-50, are available for all performances. A limited number of free tickets are available for all performances, except for the preview on May 7, when all tickets are $5. Visit www.bluehourtheatre.com/continuity for full details.
