Stayin' Alive at Gilded Balloon Patter House (Blether)

Stayin' Alive is a new play written and performed by Liverpudlian actor and writer Victoria Oxley, offering a riotously funny and brutally honest exploration of living with mental illness, OCD, class, and family relationships. Set against the backdrop of The Blue Anchor pub, the story follows Maggie as she reconnects with her sister Anne Marie following the death of her nan, with music and working men's club culture woven throughout. Directed by Megan Marie Griffith, the play draws on Oxley's own lived experience of OCD and is inspired by her grandmother, a Scouse working-class matriarch who helped raise her. The play examines survival, resilience, and the lasting impact of class and community on individuals long into adulthood.
