Written by Peter Arnott, Shall Roger Casement Hang? is a dramatisation of diplomat and Irish Nationalist Roger Casement's arrest and interrogation in the run up to the Easter Rising, 1916. A confrontation between two men who have served Britain, the play asks fundamental questions about history, colonialism, and national identity. Originally commissioned and presented by Tron Theatre, Glasgow in 2016, Union Theatre Company brings this production to Edinburgh ten years on, with Scottish independence as prevalent a question as ever. Roger Casement is played by Paul Arendt, Capt. Reginald Hall by Adrian Moore, and the production is directed by Hannah Bradley Croall.
