Doughboys at Greenside @ Riddles Court - Thistle Theatre

Set in 1917 at the Western Front, Doughboys is a military farce following Private Sam Sandes, a woman disguised as an American Doughboy, who is joined in the trenches by Bella Bianconi and Felicity Furse, each hiding their own secrets from the bumbling British Sergeant Haddock. When Corporal Duchamp threatens to expose them, the trio must strike a deal to keep their cover while racing to find love, family, and themselves before battle breaks loose. Written by Darcy Thompson and directed by Lily Filippatos, the cast features Lily Filippatos, Meena Knowles, Wynn McClenahan, Darcy Thompson, and Devon Alexander Young. The play explores queer identity, gender roles, and belonging against the backdrop of the First World War.
