Come Back Home is a full-length solo theatre piece by Fadi Murad, winner of the 2026 Summerhall Meadows Award, expanding on an excerpt first shown in Welcome to the Fringe Palestine in 2025. Using text, video, and sound, the work explores grief, loss, fear, and the meaning of home through humour, surreal moments, and dream-like logic. At its emotional core is a personal memory of Murad as a nine-year-old singing Mad World at his mother's memorial, weaving together childhood, Western pop culture, and Palestinian heritage. The piece connects deeply personal experience to life in Palestine today, examining how restrictions, checkpoints, and political erasure shape private emotional life and one's sense of self.
