“One to watch for the future” REVIEWS HUB ****
Bryony writes characters - often based on people she’s met. Are you one of those people? Most probably! And will it be flattering? Most probably not! If you are a crazed unorthodox speed awareness instructor, a small public school boy called Hector, or a Greek sex therapist with a very questionable accent you may well have been an inspiration for this show!
“Impressively dynamic and effortlessly charismatic.” LONDONTHEATRE1 ****
Join this madcap collection of interrelated characters on their journey of discovery. Will little Hector make it to his synchronized swimming competition? Will Ulva the sex Therapist manage to stop her client sleeping with the nanny? And will Vicky the speed awareness instructor save that child from being run over by a car? All questions that will be answered in ‘Flamingo’!
“Great material, comic gold” VIEWS FROM THE GODS *****
Meet the cast:
Speed awareness instructor Vicky Spuvell is famed for her unorthodox methods. Her aim: to teach her unsuspecting class about the various horrors caused by dangerous driving, based on her own traumatic experiences. Vicky has a tendency to get carried away. You could say she knows what she’s talking about.
Lisa Martinez Moore has been working for America’s leading shopping channel for the past 20 years. She was confident and self-assured until discovering she was going to be replaced by a younger model. In her final appearance on the channel, can Lisa prove that the most valuable item on display is herself?
10 year-old public schoolboy Hector has lead a charmed life, filled with holidays abroad, helicopter rides to school and expensive cheeses. As he waits to be taken to his swimming competition he wonders if he can win it, win a place at Eton and, most importantly, win the approval of his self-indulgent mother.
Sex therapist Ulva has heard it all. From Moussaka fetishes in her native Greece to stopping nanny-obsessed husbands in her adopted England, there’s nothing that could shock her. But maybe today will change that as she delivers some much-needed therapy to two innocent members of her audience.
It’s not easy being Helly. There just aren’t enough hours in her day to organise salt scrubs, mani-pedis and holidays to the Maldives while staying fit enough to keep her husband interested. Join her during her weekly diet meeting as she tries to keep her cleaner away from her husband, herself away from a Swiss roll and her son Hector away in general.
Star of the golden age of Hollywood, actress Lulu Donbrowski is no stranger to the limelight. Here, in her last recorded interview, she tells of her journey from Mid-western hay farmer to face of America’s favourite apple sauce. Her journey was not without incident, however, and so she recounts her favourite stories of famous lovers and crushing disappointments.
In the past 12 months she has performed at the VAULT Festival, Brighton Fringe and the Leicester Comedy Festival to sell out shows. She has also performed sketch comedy at the Edinburgh Fringe every year between 2011 and 2015! Alongside her writing partner Tristan Rogers and her two dogs, Stanley and Dolly; the foursome are developing a sitcom.
