Rachel Portman's The Little Prince is presented as part of Opera Modesto's Story-Into-Song Literacy Initiative, a nationally unique education program that brings literature to life through fully staged opera performances aligned with multi-disciplinary school curricula. After performances at the State Theatre on January 16 and 17, 2027, the production will tour community theaters throughout the Central Valley in January and February. In 2026, the program reached 13,000 audience members through 41 performances in 11 community theaters across 4 counties.
