Program 6 of the Steinway Society – The Bay Area's 32nd season features Russian-Israeli pianist Vitaly Starikov in a recital titled Power and Precision. Starikov rose to international prominence as a silver medalist at the 2025 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, and has performed at major venues including the Sydney Opera House, Queen Elisabeth Hall, and the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. His program pairs the lyrical depth of Mendelssohn's Piano Sonata No. 1 in E Major with the rhythmic drive of Bartók's Piano Sonata, Debussy's Images Book 2, and the energy of Prokofiev's selections from Romeo and Juliet and Toccata. Critics have praised his playing as "raw, deeply felt, and powerful."
