Spreckels Theatre Company presents
"Little Women - The Musical"
Beautiful music underscores classic story
WHO: Spreckels Theatre Company presents
WHAT: "Little Women -The Musical"
Book by Allan Knee / Lyrics by Mindi Dickstein / Music by Jason Howland
Based on the book by Louisa May Alcott
Timeless lessons for modern life are the foundation of "Little Women - The Musical," in this holiday theater presentation.
Set in Concord, Massachusetts and New York City during the 1860s, this musical is an honest account of the classic, semi-autobiographical book written by Louisa May Alcott. The story charts the events, triumphs and changing lives of the March family sisters - aspiring writer Jo, romantic Meg, pretentious Amy and kind-hearted Beth. The musical is blended with vignettes in which their lives unfold and recreations of the melodramatic short stories Jo March writes in her attic studio.
Featuring a chamber trio of piano, cello and violin and a cast of notable North Bay performers and emerging talents, this intimate stage presentation offers adventure, music and memorable characters with joyous holiday inspiration for all ages. Reservations recommended.
