E4TT explores this duality with Shostakovich’s From Jewish Folk Poetry, Op. 79 (selections), sung in the poetry’s original Yiddish language and the World Premiere of Skazka (fairytale), twisted Russian folktales reinterpreted and subverted by emerging composer Alex Malinas with images by Aria Nunez after Russian illustrator Ivan Bilibin, along with new music by Mary Bianco, Andrea Casarrubios, David Garner, and Stella G. Gitelman Willoughby.
