The series finale features the Festival Opera debut of baritone Efraín Solís, joined by pianist Marika Yasuda, performing music by Poulenc, Manuel Ponce, Julián Aguirre, Tchaikovsky, Sviridov and Rachmaninoff. A highlight is the world premiere of Borders of Dreaming, a newly commissioned song cycle by Colombian composer Juan Sebastián Cardona Ospina with text by Michael Colbruno. Inspired by the true story of Andry José Hernández Romero, a gay makeup artist wrongfully deported to El Salvador's CECOT prison, the work transforms a human rights story into a musical testament to justice and resilience.
