Young Actors’ Theatre is pleased to announce their next production for the 2017–2018 season. YAT’s Spring production season will kick off with the classic tale Disney’s The Lion King JR. for junior actors in grades 2nd-9th. Joining Director Kim Hendrix-Racine on the artistic team are Jerrica Stone (Music Director) and Wilfred Paloma (Choreographer).
Disney's The Lion King has captivated the imagination of audiences around the world and now, for the first time ever, YAT will produce this one-of-a-kind musical. The African Savannah comes to life on stage with Simba, Rafiki and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle and back again, in this inspiring, coming-of-age tale. Featuring a cast of 48, the show includes favorite songs “Circle of Life” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”.
“I am so excited to be directing my first show here at YAT,” said Director Kim Hendrix-Racine. “This is such a unique and special show that is different than anything that has been done at this theater. I am inspired by the wonderful music to create something very special. Our cast is amazing and working so hard. I am pushing them to perform beyond what they have ever done before. I am expecting a lot from these young performers and they are rising to the occasion.”
