Arts Off Broadway (AOB), the community and youth theatre founded in 2001, continues its Fall season with the story based on Charles Dickens' novel "Oliver Twist". This classic theatre production has a cast of 20 principal characters of all ages plus 40 support and ensemble roles.

The Ayala Foundation USA today announced that Filipino-American Broadway stars will be featured in a concert version of an original Filipino musical, Long Season, at its upcoming gala on September 25, 2010 at The Fairmont Hotel located at 170 South Market Street in San Jose, CA. The gala will be part of the first ever Philippine Development Forum & Gala to bring together Filipino and Filipino-American thought leaders from both sides of the Pacific to discuss solutions to the Philippine's most pressing development problems. Moonlight Stage Productions concludes its 30th Anniversary Summer Season at the Moonlight Amphitheatre with the international sensation MISS SAIGON. Performances are September 8-25 at 7:30 pm. Tickets, priced $22-$45, are on sale through the VisTix Ticket Office at (760) 724-2110 and online at moonlightstage.com. MISS SAIGON is intended for mature audiences as it contains mature themes, situations, and language. The creative team on the production includes Steven Glaudini, Director; Carlos Mendoza, Choreographer; Charlie Reuter, Musical Director; and Kenneth Gammie, Conductor.
SD City Council Names 9/28 'La Jolla Playhouse Tony Award Day'

La Jolla Playhouse is pleased to announce that San Diego City Council will issue a proclamation designating Tuesday, September 28, 2010 to be La Jolla Playhouse 2010 Tony Award Day, in celebration of the 2010 Tony Award win for the hit Broadway musical Memphis, directed by Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley. Memphis highlighted the Playhouse's 2008/9 season before transferring to New York. The proclamation will be presented to Ashley by District 1 City Councilmember Sherri S. Lightner on September 28 at 10:00 am at City Council chambers (202 C Street, 12th Floor, San Diego).
