Broadway/San Diego ~ A Nederlander Presentation is delighted to announce a very special addition to the 2010-2011 Season roster!  For one afternoon only, the rabid fans of A Prairie Home Companion with host Garrison Keillor will be able to become part of their beloved show in a Live Broadcast at San Diego Civic Theatre, on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 2:45PM.  For those lucky San Diegans for whom there cannot be enough time spent in Lake Wobegon, there is a special Premium Ticket that includes an opportunity to attend rehearsal from noon - 1:30PM and an APHC Fan Reception between the rehearsal and the show (limited availability).  Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Monday, November 15 at 10AM.

Actress Sue Scott, Tim Russell (the man of many voices), and sound-effects wizard Fred Newman will be on hand, along with the Guy's All-Star Shoe Band, led by pianist Richard Dworsky. Special guests will be announced closer to the engagement. And of course, everyone can catch up on the news from Lake Wobegon during Keillor's signature monologue.  A Prairie Home Companion started production in 1974, and airs nationally every Saturday night from 5-7 p.m. CT, and airs locally on KPBS Radio Saturdays at 5 PM, and Sundays at 11 AM.  The show was last seen in a live broadcast from the Civic Theatre in 2003, and we are delighted it is returning!A Prairie Home Companion is heard on close to 600 public radio stations across the U.S., with a weekly audience that tops 4.3 million listeners. The program can also be heard on the Armed Forces Network Europe, the Far East Network, and in dozens of European cities via the Astra satellite network.

A Prairie Home Companion is produced by Prairie Home Productions and presented by American Public Media. The show is sponsored nationally by General Mills, Inc. and by Ford. Audio clips, scripts and more information on A Prairie Home Companion can be found online at www.prairiehome.org.
