ABOUT THE PERFORMANCES Broadway Training Center of Westchester presents Amélie: Teen Edition Book by Craig Lucas Music by Daniel Messé Lyrics by Nathan Tysen & Daniel Messé Based on the film by Jean-Pierre Jeunet & Guillaume Laurant Directed by Jason Brantman and Fiona Santos Performed by the BTC Senior Ensemble Program Rated G Take the entire family on a whimsical journey into the quiet magic of everyday life with Amélie: Teen Edition. This inspiring musical tells the story of Amélie Poulain, a shy but imaginative young woman who sees the world a little differently than everyone else. Feeling invisible and isolated, Amélie decides to secretly bring joy to the people around her through small, courageous acts of kindness, setting off a chain reaction of connection, healing, and hope. With a playful, heartfelt score and vivid storytelling, the musical celebrates individuality, community, and the bravery it takes to be truly seen. At its core, Amélie: Teen Edition is a tender reminder that even the smallest gestures can create extraordinary change, and that love often appears when we dare to open ourselves to it. The musical adaptation of Amélie draws inspiration from the iconic 2001 film that captured hearts around the world. The Jeunet & Laurant film holds the record for being the highest grossing French-language film of all time in North America and earned five Academy Award Nominations. The Drama League Award nominated Broadway production premiered in 2017 and was praised for its inventive staging, imaginative use of actors as musicians, and its deeply human storytelling. Since then, Amélie has enjoyed international productions and regional success, earning acclaim for its charm, emotional depth, and unique theatrical style. Amélie: Teen Edition preserves the show’s poetic heart while making it accessible and joyful for all ages. Don’t miss this delightful celebration of wonder, connection, and the beauty of being yourself. “Its unabashed bid to bring joy, promote everyday kindness and rekindle hope couldn’t be more pertinent.” — The Guardian WHEN: Fri.
