Bake or not to bake - what would you do?
Della [Danielle Valentine] makes cakes, not judgment calls - those she leaves to her husband Tim [Dave Cole].
That all changes when a girl they helped raise comes back to their home in North Carolina to get married and her fiancé isn’t the man they knew, but a woman AND has been asked to bake their cake!
Oh, did we mention, Della’s a conservative-leaning person and has just been selected as a contestant on The Great American Baking Show?
Her life has just been upended and she has to figure it all out - with or without her husband.
Right now, with political divisions seeming to slice through every aspect of our lives, Bekah Brunstetter's 2017 play THE CAKE arrives at triangle productions with uncomfortable timeliness. This show is a funny and insightful exploration of what happens when our convictions collide with our hearts.
