Pélagie Gbaguidi: Excavation and Knowledge is a multi-media installation by the acclaimed artist, set to transform The Fralin Museum of Art at the University of Virginia from August 30, 2025, to May 30, 2027. Gbaguidi explores historical and religious links between Haiti, Brazil, Virginia, and western Africa, inviting viewers to reconsider divisions and reflect on shared connections. This exhibit is part of a series celebrating the museum's 90th anniversary and aims to engage audiences in a dialogue about histories and narratives that shape cultural identities.
