Jesus Christ Superstar, based on the Gospels, depicts the last seven days of Jesus' life. Apostle Judas Iscariot fears Jesus' followers will attract Roman ire. Priests Caiaphas and Annas plan to crush Jesus' movement. In Jerusalem, Jesus finds the temple overrun by merchants and tells people to heal themselves, calmed by Mary Magdalene. Judas betrays Jesus for 30 pieces of silver, leading Roman soldiers to arrest Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus is sent to Caiaphas, Pontius Pilate, and King Herod, who condemns him to death on the cross. Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Lyrics by Tim Rice, Directed by Ken Jones
