After the recent death of his father, painfully shy and withdrawn Jason finds an outlet for his anxiety through the Christian Puppet Ministry, in his devoutly religious, hometown of Cypress, Texas. Jason’s complicated relationships with the town pastor, the school bully, the first girl who expresses any interest in him, and—most especially—his mother, are thrown into upheaval when Jason’s puppet, Tyrone, reveals a shocking and dangerously irreverent personality all its own.
Nominated for five Tony Awards – including Best Play – this mature-themed comedy explores the startlingly fragile nature of faith, morality, and the ties that bind us, all to hilariously comic effect.
“Black box theater at its dizzying finest."
"Easily one of the most talented casts and enthralling productions I’ve seen in a while."
"Yet another stellar example of why EastLine is the future of theatre on Long Island!"
“A singular show with a generously talented cast.”
