The Risk/Reward Festival of New Performance returns to PICA June 11–14, 2026, bringing together 28 Pacific Northwest artists across four days of contemporary performance, installation, and special presentations. At the heart of the festival is a shared mainstage evening in The Annex featuring five short works presented back-to-back, with performances by CommonForm, Marisa Conroy & Olivia Bratko, Sky Poole / Strange Enough Dance, Kye Grant, and KG Galbreath. Sarah K. Finn returns with a full-length solo work, The Right Thing To Be Doing, a lecture-performance and fungal fantasy exploring climate doom and interconnection, while installation artists PDX-BER Moves, Jennifer Wright, and Thien-Kim Bui & Sumi Wu activate the warehouse throughout the evenings. The Portland Drag Theatre Workshop, guided by Anthony Hudson and Pepper Pepper, also returns for its fourth year with two showcases on Saturday featuring Portland drag artists expanding their work into theatrical forms.
