Steel City Shakespeare Center is partnering with the West View Hub for an online performance of As You Like It that will stream live on Facebook Live Saturday, April 25 at 7:00 pm. The performance is free to all, and viewers are invited to donate to the West View Hub online. The majority of the proceeds will benefit the West View Hub's food pantry to ensure they can continue to meet the food needs of families in the area hit hardest by the COVID-19 crisis. Our goal is to raise $10,000 through this event.As You Like It is an ideal choice for this moment, offering a reflection of what it means to be a community through all of its changes and disruptions while ultimately coming together in celebration. In these unprecedented times, we are reminded, perhaps more than ever, of our basic human need to be a part of a community and feel a sense of belonging. Even in the absence of a physical stage, we can still find a way to come together and share our stories.The cast of As You Like It features several actors from Pittsburgh, including three from the West View community, as well as actors from Minnesota, Wisconsin, New Jersey, and Nebraska.We hope you'll join us virtually on April 25, and we look forward to a time in the near future when we can gather in person and share great stories in the true spirit of community.
