Valley Youth Theatre presents Shrek the Musical, a Tony Award-winning stage adaptation of the beloved film, in downtown Phoenix. The production features a young actor originally from Yuma, Arizona who attends Grand Canyon University in the title role, with Dragon played by a performer from Maricopa. Cast member Alex Paquin follows in his mother's footsteps, as she performed in several Valley Youth Theatre productions during the organization's early years at Tower Plaza.
