The Scoundrel & Scamp’s 24/7 Play Festival is a celebration of the theatrical creative process!
On Friday night, August 14th, at 8:00 PM, seven playwrights will be given a common prompt for plays (a starting line, a prop, a situation) and the gender/age compositions of their assigned cast. Their coffee cups will be filled and they will be given the directive that they can leave the writing chambers only when handing over a completed 10-minute play — or the arrival of 4:00 AM, whichever comes first.
On Saturday morning, August 15th, starting at 7:30 AM, the other artists — 7 directors and 24 actors — arrive to discover their new scripts, roles, and assignments.
At noon, we’ll begin the tech process.
Performances will then take place at 7:00 and 9:00 PM! Both shows will include the seven plays.
At the conclusion of the festival, a mini-awards ceremony will be held to celebrate the audiences’ and artists’ favorites.

The Scoundrel and Scamp Theatre is an award-winning Tucson-based professional theater company founded in 2016 by Bryan & Elizabeth Falcón. We are dedicated to sharing diverse stories about and by historically excluded voices as well as creating immersive, imaginative experiences for audiences of all ages. Our physical spaces, a 100 seat proscenium theater and a 40 seat black box space are located at The Historic Y, in the 4th Avenue Shopping District.
