"Personal candor meets professional virtuosity in 'Road to Saigon' at East West Players, to irresistible effect. By giving three artists who have played the lead role in 'Miss Saigon' free rein to merge their stories, director Jon Lawrence Rivera creates an ineluctable entertainment..," wrote critic David Nichols in the LA Times.

"Road to Saigon", East West Players' 44th season finale features three "Miss Saigon" alumnae Joan Almedilla, Jennifer Paz, and Jenni Selma in an original musical revue where the trio of outstanding vocalists gets to share personal stories about their young adult years, family and romantic relationships, and  17 year old alter ego, Kim. Previous viewing of megamusical inspiration, "Miss Saigon", is not necessary.

Based on in-depth interviews with the three actors, the world premiere production of "Road to Saigon" was developed and directed by Jon Lawrence Rivera, with musical direction and arrangements by Nathan Wang, and musical staging by Kay Cole.

The musical revue opened at the David Henry Hwang Theatre at the Union Center for the Arts (120 Judge  John, Aiso St., Los Angeles CA 90012) on May 19, 2010.  It will run until June 13, 2010.
