Handel's Foundling Hospital Anthem premiered on May 27 th, 1749 in the Chapel of the Foundling Hospital, Bloomsbury London to great success both for the composer and the hospital. The concert for the Foundling Hospital was held as a benefit earning substantial funds for the orphans living there.
