Michael Mayo at Harold Prince Theatre

“One of the most creative and commanding singers” (WRTI), Los Angeles-based phenomenon Michael Mayo makes his Penn Live Arts debut. His “nimble vocals, thoughtful lyrics and intricate compositions” showcase how “he joyfully bends notes to his will and for our enjoyment” (NPR Music). A sought-after collaborator among jazz and pop greats, Mayo brings his quartet for a dynamic mix of standards and originals from his two-time Grammy® Award-nominated release, Fly. Moving fluidly through jazz, neo-soul and R&B, Mayo’s heartfelt crooning and commanding vocalese reveal “an inventiveness and versatility that already establish him as one of the voices to watch in the creative jazz scene of tomorrow” (Jazz Magazine).
