Girl from the North Country at Arden Theatre Company

Girl from the North Country weaves some of Bob Dylan's most iconic songs, including Forever Young, Hurricane, and Like a Rolling Stone, into a Depression-era story of strangers whose lives intersect inside a run-down boarding house in Duluth, Minnesota. Rather than using the songs to drive the plot like a traditional musical, Dylan's music offers a window into the characters' inner lives. The entire 13-person cast doubles as the orchestra, playing live onstage on more than 25 instruments including piano, guitar, banjo, mandolin, and harmonica. The cast includes Scott Greer, Greg Wood, Sarah Gliko, Eric Hissom, Maggie Lakis, Matteo Scammell, and Charlie DelMarcelle.
