MURDERS IN THE HAIR To Be Presented for The Shawnee Playhouse 48th Season
Directed by Michelle Biscardi and Tony Schwartz, the comedy is set at a Shawnee on Delaware, PA salon
The Shawnee Playhouse, celebrating its forty-eighth season, will present The Mane Attraction, Murders in the Hair, from Saturday, May 2nd through Sunday, May 17th, 2026.
Directed by Michelle Biscardi and Tony Schwartz, this hilarious play stars veteran, top talent from The Poconos and surrounding areas, including Michelle Biscardi as Carla Carlucci, Kelly Ann Walsh as Crystal Rae Robinson, Bart Mahon as Toni Flowers, Tony Schwartz as Sheriff Marco, Steve Tarquini as Deputy Polo, Sally Quinn Hendee as Betty Whitaker, and Teresa Tarquini as Bianca Ferarri.
Carla's Mane Attraction Salon on Lake Waddlewabblepeck is usually the place for trims, touch-ups, and town gossip, but when a body washes up on the shore out back, the sheriff shrugs it off as "just another boating accident." Carla and her loyal (and nosy) crew aren't buying it. Suddenly, curlers turn into clues, manicures into stakeouts, and the ladies find themselves tangled up in a madcap investigation that's equal parts suspense and side-splitting laughter. This two-act comedy is a wild ride of small-town secrets, big personalities, and plenty of sharp cuts, on and off of the salon floor. Come for the mystery, stay for the laughs, and leave with your sides split, but your hair perfectly styled and intact.
Produced by Charlie and Ginny Kirkwood, and under the executive direction of Midge McClosky, this hysterical play features a veteran technical team, including Michelle Biscardi and Tony Schwartz as directors, Midge McClosky as set designer, Chris Hnasko as lighting and sound designer, Kenneth Card as promotional photographer, Robert McClosky as media manager, and Samantha Cameron as press writer.
