Josh Radnor stops by The Today Show to discuss his role in the new NBC musical series RISE. In the new musical drama series “Rise,” Josh Radnor portrays an inspirational high school theater director. He tells TODAY's Hoda Kotb that he was “thrilled” to learn that Rosie Perez would co-star with him: “She's really fun to fake-fight with, but I wouldn't recommend a real fight with her.”

Inspired by a true story, when dedicated teacher and family man Lou Mazzuchelli follows his dream of leading his high school's lagging theatre department, he not only galvanizes the students and faculty, but their entire working-class town. Rise premieres TONIGHT 10/9 on NBC.

The first musical offering highlights cast recordings included in the “Rise” series premiere, airing on Tuesday, March 13 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, immediately following the season finale of “This Is Us.” The weekly musical releases will culminate with a full album, entitled “RISE SEASON 1: THE ALBUM,” due Friday, May 11. The collection will highlight selected tracks released over the course of the season, alongside additional unreleased songs from the cast.

In conjunction with its new theatre drama, RISE, NBC has created  R.I.S.E. America, a program that grants a half-million dollars to high school theatre programs across the country.

NBC has released the latest promo for the upcoming drama 'Rise.' The music video style promo, featuring the show's cast performing a new Tom Kitt arrangement of Macklemore's 'Glorious', will also preview on air during NBC's broadcast of the Super Bowl on Sunday. Check out the new promo below!

On October 15, teens from stage and screen came together at The Green Room 42 to perform a show they created, entitled #WeHaveaVoice. They played to a packed, sold-out house, singing songs with themes relevant to them including dreams and aspirations, belonging, family, and love. Their benefit concert raised over $2,500 for Covenant House, an organization they felt is important, relevant, and in need of their help, especially after the devastating weather that caused damage to seven of their shelters. Broadway Gives Back and Seaview Productions presented the 'Second Annual Broadway Charity Songs' benefit concert on February 24, 2014. 'Broadway Charity Songs' has paired a group of award-winning musical theatre composers with a group outstanding charities and tasked them with composing an original song inspired by the work of that charity. The result is a group of songs gifted to the charities - with the hope that the songs 'go viral' -- increasing awareness for these outstanding organizations.
