The Public Theater has released a video, raising awareness for the 2020 Census.

Performances begin tonight for the New York City Center Encores! first show of the 2020 season- Mack & Mabel, running for seven performances February 19-23. Led by Broadway's Douglas Sills and Alexandra Socha in the title roles, the production will also star Major Attaway (Fatty Arbuckle), Michael Berresse (William Desmond Taylor), Lilli Cooper (Lottie Ames), Ben Fankhauser (Frank Wyman), Jordan Gelber (Mr. Kessel), Evan Kasprzak (Freddy), Raymond J. Lee (Andy), Kevin Ligon (Eddie), Janet Noh (Ella), and Allen Lewis Rickman (Mr. Bauman).

Who is that emerging from his borough? Today, February 2nd, officially marks Groundhog Day, the annual holiday that celebrates the legendary groundhog Punxsutawney Phil. In honor of the occasion, we're looking back at the musical adaptation of the classic movie, Groundhog Day. Few people seem to be familiar with Lerner & Loewe's Paint Your Wagon. Those who are usually mention the 1969 film of the same title, starring Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood, known for being a ridiculously miscast and embarrassingly terrible flop. The musical, which originally appeared on Broadway in 1951, is similarly messy, and has gone pretty much unproduced for decades. Fortunately, however, playwright Jon Marans has redrafted the book, top-to-bottom, enhancing both the story line and its characters, and the result is a shiny-new masterpiece with new orchestrations and new dance and vocal arrangements. It is now an entirely enjoyable musical, complex in its structure, with an interesting setting, compelling plot, nuanced layers, appropriate social commentary, and characters...

Groundhog Day's Raymond J. Lee recently posted a cover of Ed Sheeran's 'Perfect' on YouTube. As the video description states, the video and audio were recorded with a mic, a pop filter, GarageBand, and Lee's iPhone. Sing2Piano supplied the instrumental. Watch the video here!

Following the lead of many other Broadway musicals such as Come From Away, Dear Evan Hansen, and Great Comet, cast members from Groundhog Day have decided to take part in the #Ham4All challenge -- but with a twist! Instead of the typical cover of a Hamilton track, the Groundhog Day cast decided to make a mashup music video with the backbone being My Shot and incorporating lyrics and melodies from songs from their own show.
