THE PROM to Perform at WorldPride Closing Ceremony

BroadwayWorld has just learned that The Prom will perform at the WorldPride Closing Ceremony on June 30th in Times Square. Melissa Etheridge will headline the Closing Ceremony, which will also include performances by Jake Shears & MNEK. Additional talent will be announced in the weeks ahead.

From promposals to full-ensemble dance numbers, premiering today is the official music video for "YOU HAPPENED," a joyous group number from the hit Broadway musical THE PROM. The video made its debut yesterday. With on-stage performance clips as well as behind-the-scenes footage of the cast in-studio, the video for "You Happened" is the perfect companion to the feel-good track - watch below!

Six-time Emmy Award winner Ryan Murphy announced today on Instagram that he will host a special performance of THE PROM to benefit Hetrick Martin, GLAAD and The Trevor Project on Tuesday, April 9.

Currently in previews at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street) is Eugene O'Neill's ferocious American classic, The Iceman Cometh, starring Tony Award winner, two-time Academy Award winner, and 2018 Academy Award nominee Denzel Washington. Opening night is set for Thursday, April 26 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.

The 2017 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out last night to recipients in 19 categories, with three honorary awards also bestowed. The Lortel Awards were distributed in a ceremony at NYU Skirball Center hosted by actor and comedian Taran Killam. This year's event was once again a benefit for The Actors Fund.
