Nothing says 'holiday cheer' like the Broadway Sessions Holiday Show! It was an incredible evening full of performances from Paige Davis, Hannah Cruz, Avionce Hoyles, Kennedy Caughell, Patrick Page, Nathan Lucrezio, Javier Ignacio, Bre Jackson, Joel B New, Imari Hardon, Jessica Hendy, and teen vocal dynamo JJ Jenkins.

Each year, six to eight million dogs and Cats will enter shelters and rescue groups, but only about half will be adopted. To encourage shelter pet adoption during the holiday season, the cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber's iconic Broadway hit Cats have teamed up with The Shelter Pet Project to help these furry friends find their forever homes. As part of the partnership, the Cats cast took part in a purr-fect PSA to reinforce the importance of shelter pet adoption and how adoption has personally impacted their lives. Watch the PSA below!

This past Thursday Broadway Sessions celebrated the 5th birthday of our beloved and uber-talented musical director, Joshua Stephen Kartes. Joshua had but one birthday wish- he wanted to blow out his candles like 'Bobby' in Sondheim's masterpiece, Company. So that's exactly what we gave him!

Broadway Sessions had a very sweet season premiere this last week as we welcomed cast members from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We danced Oompa Loompa-style, enjoyed heartfelt performances, and watched a couple 11 year old boys SING THEIR FACES OFF. Jackie Hoffman was unable to attend, but never fear- the cast celebrated her through dramatic readings of some of her finer TWEETS! Enjoy these performances by legendary John Rubinstein, Emma Plaeffle, Cory Lingner, Elliot Mattox, Ryan Sell, Jake Flynn and our sensational diva "Rising Stars" Nikisha Williams (bound for The Color Purple tour) and Brittany Dorazio.

Statistically speaking, it's safe to say that just about every Broadway show boasts cast members who graduated from Cincinnati University- College Conservatory of Music, or CCM. The school's legacy is woven deep into the fabric of the Broadway community. We took some time to shine a light on that legacy at Broadway Sessions recently. The '17 graduating class took the stage alongside alumni Jessica Hendy (Cats), Julian R. The cast of CATS was simply 'purr-fect' (see what I did there?) at their recent visit to Broadway Sessions. Cast members took to  their songs like cats to cream (oh, dear God), as well as giving us insight in the complicated and ever so flushed out dramaturgy of the CATs society (who likes who, who fights who etc.). Besides fantastic performances cast members helped our audience find their inner Cat with makeup tutorials and choreography lessons..the 'kitten caboodle'. The jellicles are back! One of the biggest hits in theatrical history, Cats returns to Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 W 52nd Street) with preview performances kicking off last night, July 14, 2016, and an official opening set for Sunday, July 31, 2016. 

Powerhouse theatre program CCM brought the legacy to Broadway Sessions last week. Let's face it, there's not a Broadway show running without a CCM alum up in there. The 2016 graduating class performed alongside starry alums- Jessica Hendy (Cats, Aida), Max Chernin (Bright Star) and Alysha Deslorieux (Hamilton, Beautiful, Sister Act). The future of Broadway look awfully bright from where we stand. Check out these incredible performances and get excited, real excited!

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, just presented Broadway Rocks Kelly Clarkson a one-night concert featuring Broadway and up-and-coming performers singing their favorite songs by the first American Idol. The show was was directed/produced by Brandon Beynon and Music Directed/Arrangements by Joshua Zecher-Ross, with Micah Burgess (Guitar), Lorenzo Wolff (Bass), Kenny Hildebrandt (Drums).

Last weekend, Feinstein's/54 Below presented BROADWAY ROCKS KELLY CLARKSON, featuring Broadway and up-and-coming performers singing their favorite songs by the first American Idol. As part of the evening, Tony nominee Robin De Jesus joined The Mashup Project's Jen Brissman for a mashup of 'Disaster/Beautiful Disaster.' Check it out below!
