The show features creative consultation by Philip William McKinley (The Boy From Oz), original direction by Tony Award-winner Julie Taymor (The Lion King, Across The Universe, Frida), music and lyrics by 22- time Grammy Award-winners Bono and The Edge, and book co-written by Taymor, Glen Berger (Underneath The Lintel) and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Fantastic Four and Spider-Man comics, 'Big Love').

As previously reported, the cast of PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT will be performing the show stopper 'It's Raining Men' at the Tony Awards ceremony on Sunday, June 12. The performance will be broadcast as part of the ceremony on CBS. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the rehearsal run with special guest performers Paul Shaffer (who wrote the tune) and Martha Wash (the song's original songstress). 1:30 Update: Video of SPIDER-MAN Injury; Actor Identified; Equity to Halt Performances; Investigation Underway

Twitter was flooded last night shortly after 10:40 PM with messages from audience members at SPIDER-MAN, with word that an actor fell during the middle of Act 2 when a cable snapped. The show was first put on hold, and then cancelled as ambulances arrived on the scene. This morning, the actor has been identified as aerialist Christopher Tierney, who is reported to be in stable condition. At 11:29 AM, Equity has released a statement that 'Actors' Equity Association is working with management and the Department of Labor to ensure that performances will not resume until back-up safety measures are in place.'

On September 10, Spider-Man Reeve Carney introduced the first song from the upcoming Broadway show, 'Boy Falls From the Sky' on Good Morning America. Carney performed the song, composed by Bono and The Edge at the Hudson Theatre in the Millennium Hotel, with the performance broadcast live during the 8am-9am hour. While on their 360 Tour in Portugal, Bono and The Edge themselves treated fans to their rendition of the song. Click below to watch!
