The New Group 2026's Gala honored Sarita Choudhury, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Jennifer Tilly and George Sheanshang with the 2026 Mimi and Michael Mendelson Award for Outstanding Commitment to Theater. See photos from the event here!

Directed by Adrian Alea, the evening’s performers included: Tony Award Winner Alex Newell, The New York Vocal Collective, Morgan James and Dan Micciche.  Presenters include: Quiara Alegría Hudes, Isaac Mizrahi, Nicole Ari Parker, Chloë Sevigny and John Turturro.

This special evening also provided critical funding for The New Group’s programs, including its tuition-free theater education program for high school students in New York City, the YTT College Access Program.
