STAGE TUBE: Chase Brock Talks Spidey's Choreography
DanceOn, the YouTube partnership channel exclusive to dance videos, released their interview with Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark's additional choreographer Chase Brock. Creative consultant Philip William McKinley brought on Chase to help "refresh" the show during its performance hiatus in April and May of 2011. DanceOn chats with Chase about the process of getting "Spidey 2.0" off the ground, working with Bono & The Edge, and meeting Julie Taymor on opening night. Broadway's biggest show SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark officially opens Tuesday, June 14th at the Foxwoods Theatre (213 West 42nd Street). "Music from SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark" will be released on June 14th by Interscope Records. With 14 original songs co-written by Bono and The Edge for the Broadway production, SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, the album is produced by Steve Lillywhite. Songs are performed by members of the cast including Reeve Carney, Jennifer Damiano, T.V. Carpio and Patrick Page, with contributions from Bono and The Edge and music performed by the production?s twenty member strong orchestra. The lead single, "Rise Above 1" performed by Reeve Carney featuring Bono and The Edge, and produced by Alex Da Kid, is available for purchase now on iTunes and Amazon.Inspired by over 40 years of Marvel comic books, SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark follows the story of teenager Peter Parker, whose unremarkable life is turned upside-down when he's bitten by a genetically altered spider and wakes up the next morning clinging to his bedroom ceiling. This bullied science-geek suddenly endowed with incredible powers soon learns, however, that with great power comes great responsibility as villains put both his physical strength and strength of character to the test.SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark began preview performances on November 28, 2010.
