There is a revolution happening on Broadway! Roundabout Theatre Company and the American Repertory Theater's new Broadway production of 1776, directed by Jeffrey L. Page and Diane Paulus, opened officially at Roundabout's American Airlines Theatre on Broadway. BroadwayWorld was there for the big night and were taking you inside the festivities in this video.

New City Music Theatre, formerly Cleveland Musical Theatre, held the first production under its new name and reinvigorated mission on Thursday, August 26 when it presented Jason Robert Brown’s seminal work Songs for a New World. Reimagined through a contemporary storytelling lens and performed by an expanded, star-studded cast including Liz Calloway, Jason Gotay, Jay Armstrong Johnson, Mary Kate Morrissey, and Ximone Rose, among others, at Radial Park at Halletts Point in Queens.

The Los Angeles Premiere engagement of Waitress will play Hollywood Pantages Theatre for a four-week engagement; August 2 - 26, 2018. The show held its opening night on August 3. The upcoming National Touring Production of WAITRESS, the new Broadway musical from Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles inspired by Adrienne Shelley's 2007 motion picture, will be led by Desi Oakley (Les Miserables, Evita) as Jenna, and Lenne Klingaman as Dawn with Bryan Fenkhart (Memphis) as Dr. Pomatter, Nick Bailey ('Red Oaks') as Earl and Ryan G. Dunkin ('Bull') as Cal.

Kinky Boots, the smash-hit musical that brings together four-time Tony® Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy® Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony® Award-winner for Best Score for Kinky Boots), kicked off its national tour last month in Las Vegas, and it will continue to other United States west coast stops in Tempe, San Diego, Portland, Seattle, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Costa Mesa before heading east in 2015. Following a successful engagement in Sydney, Australia, Atomic, the new musical based on the creation of the atomic bomb, will make its highly anticipated U.S. premiere with a strictly limited 8-week Off-Broadway engagement from June 26 - August 16 at The Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues). The official opening is set for Sunday, July 13. With book & lyrics by Danny Ginges and Gregory Bonsignore, and music & lyrics by Philip Foxman, Atomic is choreographed by Dean Walsh and directed by Damien Gray.
