Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS didn't get to present the 2020 edition of the Easter Bonnet Competition, which would have ended, as the show has since 1995, with the anthem 'Help is on the Way.'

Today we rewind to 2012, when Scandalous opened at the Neil Simon Theatre, where it played for 29 performances. Led by Carolee Carmello, the musical featured a book and lyrics by Kathie Lee Gifford and music by David Pomeranz and David Friedman. It also starred Edward Watts, Andrew Samonsky, Roz Ryan and George Hearn.

On this morning's episode of TODAY, actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth performs "Give It Away."  Kathie Lee Gifford and David Friedman wrote this song for Mary O'Connor, the waitress who is honored in Kathie Lee's 'Everyone Has a Story' series for donating her kidney to a stranger.

The new musical comedy DISENCHANTED! will make its New York premiere in a limited 9-week engagement at Theatre at St. Clement's (423 West 46th St. at 9th Avenue) beginning previews on Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Opening night is set for Thursday, December 4, 2014. With book, music and lyrics by Dennis T. Giacino, DISENCHANTED! is directed by Fiely A. Matias and features musical staging by Matt West (Lestat). The 27th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition raised a staggering $4,250,542 - eclipsing the previous high of $3,734,129 set in 2007. The grand total was announced Tuesday after six weeks of intensive fundraising for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS by 47 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies. Four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein (Kinky Boots), two-time Academy Award winner Tom Hanks (Lucky Guy) and Grammy Award winner Cyndi Lauper (Kinky Boots) were on hand to announce the grand total at this year's Easter Bonnet Competition, which ended in two shows featuring original presentations, songs, dances and 19 intricate, custom-made bonnets. Kathie Lee Gifford discussed the closing of her new Broadway musical SCANDALOUS on the Today show on NBC. 'So many of the brand new shows this fall really, really have struggled and are posting closings,' she lamented.
