BroadwayWorld has a first look at La Mirada's The Sound of Music starring Diane Phelan (Broadway: The King and I & South Pacific at Lincoln Center) as Maria, Christopher Carl (Broadway: South Pacific at Lincoln Center, Mamma Mia!) as Captain von Trapp, and Grammy nominee Suzanna Guzmán (The King and Iwith Yul Brynner, Bizet's Carmen) as Mother Abbess.

La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts and McCoy Rigby Entertainment (celebrating its 25th Silver Anniversary at the theatre) are thrilled to present SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, based on the greatest movie musical of all time with screenplay by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, songs by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed. The fresh new production will be directed & choreographed by Spencer Liff (Emmy nominee for TV's So You Think You Can Dance and Broadway's Head Over Heels, Hedwig and the Angry Inch & Falsettos). The Associate Director is Cynthia Ferrer (original Kathy Selden in first National Tour of SINGIN' IN THE RAIN) with musical direction by Keith Harrison.

The 2018 Broadway At Music Circus season continues with Disney's Newsies, which The New York Times called 'a musical worth singing about!' With a cast that includes Broadway veterans and veterans of the Broadway and national touring productions of Newsies-and featuring the original Tony Award-winning Broadway choreography-the show is sure to be an audience favorite. Performances of Disney's Newsies are Tuesday, July 10 through Sunday, July 15 at the Wells Fargo Pavilion.

The 66th Music Circus season continues with the delightful and enduing musical Hello, Dolly!, Jerry Herman's award-winning tale of vivacious matchmaker Dolly Levi. To round out its 65th season, Music Circus presents HAIR, the groundbreaking musical that defined a generation and introduced rock 'n' roll to Broadway. Set against a backdrop of the Vietnam era, a group of late 1960s youth join a social revolution and 'Let the Sun Shine In.'
