The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) is thrilled to announce multi-platinum award-winning singer and songwriter Jann Arden as the first 2020 inductee into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. With accolades that include 19 top 10 singles and eight JUNO Awards, Arden is a beloved Canadian musical artist and personality. To celebrate her induction during The 49th Annual JUNO Awards on Sunday, March 15, 2020, Arden will grace the stage and perform live from the SaskTel Centre. Fans can tune in to this special performance as part of The 2020 JUNO Awards broadcast live in Canada on CBC, CBC Gem, CBC Radio One, CBC Music, and the CBC Listen app. The awards will also be available for audiences outside of Canada to stream at cbcmusic.ca/junos.

Storm Large Brings Rock-Fueled Cabaret To Helsinki Hudson

Vocalist Storm Large, who shot to national prominence in 2006 as a finalist on the CBS show Rock Star: Supernova, brings her rock-fueled cabaret act to Club Helsinki Hudson on Sunday, September 29, at 8pm. Storm Large's repertoire ranges from original, sweaty and steamy hard-rock numbers; standards such as Jacques Brel's 'Ne Me Quitte Pas' and Cole Porter's 'I've Got You Under My Skin'; and rock-era ballads by Randy Newman and Lou Reed. She is also a vocalist with neo-lounge act Pink Martini. Storm spent the 1990s singing in clubs throughout San Francisco. Tired of the club scene, she moved to Portland to pursue a new career as a chef, but a last-minute cancellation in 2002 at a Portland club turned into a standing Wednesday night engagement for Storm and her new band, The Balls. It wasn't long before Storm had a cult-like following in Portland, and a renewed singing career that was soon to be launched onto the international stage.

The heavily anticipated 10th anniversary special engagement of Storm Large's autobiographical, one-woman rock musical Crazy Enough opens June 25 on the U.S. Bank Main Stage. Crazy Enough broke records at The Armory in 2009 with a sold-out, 21-week run. Beginning with stories of a childhood complicated by her mother's schizophrenia, Large takes us through the ups and downs of the years that follow - sex, drugs, running away to California, and the saving grace of rock 'n' roll.  Crazy Enough features original songs by Large and James Beaton, including the hilarious and incredibly catchy "My Vagina is Eight Miles Wide." Original music director Beaton returns to the production. Crazy Enough will open on Large's 50th birthday.
