STORM LARGE With Le Bonheur Reinterprets The American Songbook At Carpenter Center Image

California The Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center, located on the campus of California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), hosts two evenings of dazzling music on Wednesday and Thursday, April 24th and 25th at 7pm, welcoming vocalist extraordinaire Storm Large and her band Le Bonheur to the stage as part of Carpenter Center's Cabaret Series.

Storm Large made a name for herself as a singer with Pink Martini and for her riveting 2006 appearance as a finalist on Rock Star: Supernova. Storm has since sold-out concerts with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. and sung with Grammy winner k.d. lang, singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright, and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer George Clinton. The New York Times calls her sensational.

Storm Large brings more than her inimitable interpretations of the American Songbook and Broadway showstoppers to Carpenter Center. She also thrills with gorgeous originals delivered in an intimate performance space that distinguishes Carpenter Center's Cabaret Series from other settings. Guests will revel in Storm Large's incomparable voice and engaging presence as they sit onstage with her and her band, Le Bonheur, recreating the warmth and emotional immediacy of a cabaret.

Tickets for Storm Large with Le Bonheur start at $45. For tickets and more information, visit CarpenterArts.org/Storm or call the Carpenter Center Ticket Office at (562) 985-7000. The 2018-2019 Season at Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center is made possible, in part, by season media partner KPCC 89.3-FM.

Storm Large With Le Bonheur Venue: Carpenter Performing Arts Center, 6200 E. Atherton Street, Long Beach, CA 90815 Date: Wednesday & Thursday, April 24 & 25, 2019 Time: 7pm (Doors open at 6pm) Tickets: Starting at $45

Founded in 1994, Carpenter Performing Arts Center is located on the CSULB campus and gracefully accommodates large and small productions, seating 1,051 patrons. The Center is named after pop music duo Richard and Karen Carpenter, who both attended California State University, Long Beach. Their music epitomizes the best of our culture: modern and traditional, wholesome and sage. Carpenter Center continues to honor that elegant legacy each season by showcasing emerging and established musicians, dancers, actors, comedians, and visual artists, as well as other culturally relevant presentations.
