Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, has announced the June premieres for Works & Process Artists (WPA) Virtual Commissions.

On June 7 at 7:30pm EDT, Works & Process at the Guggenheim will present the premiere of Storm as part of the Works & Process Artists (WPA) Virtual Commission Series.

Before COVID-19, Adam Lenson was producing SIGNAL, a quarterly concert series in association with H Club London that showcased the best new artist-driven musical theatre. But when forced to cancel their March event, he decided to take the concert online. Fortunately this presented the opportunity to showcase writers from all over the world.

To financially support artists and nurture their creative process during these challenging times, Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, announces Works & Process Virtual Commissions. With the generosity of our board, Works & Process will grant over $40,000 in commissioning funds to artists.

Musical Theatre Factory (MTF) Tune In Tuesdays series continues on April 21 with Shakina Nayfack's (Transparent, Difficult People) MANIFEST PUSSY, a rock concert/standup special/ritual sacrifice that follows Shakina's pilgrimage to Thailand for gender confirmation.

WP Theater has announced that their third biennial Pipeline Festival will continue virtually, with #pipelineonline. Originally slated to begin performances on March 26, each of the Festival plays will now be featured weekly by WP Lab Artists in weekly emails and on WP Theater's Instagram @wptheater, through April 24.

WP Theater, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Lisa McNulty and Managing Director Michael Sag, has announced the 2020 lineup for The Pipeline Festival, the third biennial showcase of its celebrated WP Lab residency for playwrights, directors and producers. The Big Chill meets This is Us in Rachel Bonds' play Goodnight Nobody. In this deeply moving and funny world premiere, a group of old friends reconnect after years apart. They reminisce with wild abandon, until the things they aren't telling each other come hurtling to the surface. The production runs January 10 through February 9 in McCarter's Berlind Theatre. 59E59 Theaters welcomes the world premiere of HOW TO LOAD A MUSKET, written by Talene Monahon and directed by Jaki Bradley. Produced by Less Than Rent Theatre, HOW TO LOAD A MUSKET begins performances on Saturday, January 11 for a limited engagement through Sunday, January 26. Maestra is an organization founded by Georgia Stitt that exists to give support, visibility, and community to female composers, music directors, orchestrators, arrangers, copyists, music coordinators, and musicians who are an underrepresented minority in musical theater. It's time for them to be heard.
