Nominations Announced For The 2025 Dora Mavor Moore Awards

The Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) has announced nominations for the 45th Anniversary Dora Mavor Moore Awards presented by the Romano D’Andrea Foundation. The Awards will be presented on Monday, June 30 at Toronto’s Meridian Hall.

Fall For Dance North Announces In-Theatre Screening Of Signature Program At Meridian Hall

Fall for Dance North (FFDN), in partnership with TO Live, announces a special, in-theatre film screening of FFDN's 2021 Signature Program dance film at Meridian Hall (1 Front St. E) on Oct. 14 at 7pm, in strict compliance with public health protocols and seating capacity limitations. An innovative three-part global dance film, the digital presentation features three stunning performances shot on location in India, Cuba, and London (UK) and directed by award-winning Indo-Canadian filmmaker Vikram Dasgupta.

At an online media announcement - pre-taped in front of Meridian Hall with physically distanced protocols in place - streamed June 8 on the Dora Awards YouTube channel, the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) announced 243 nominations for the 41st annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards.

DanceWorks Presents EDEN PLANTED at the Harbourfront Centre Theatre

Reversing the fall of humanity and restoring the Garden of Eden in the technological age - DANCEWORKS presents the World Premiere of ZATA OMM's EDEN PLANTED. This brilliant production is produced and performed by Toronto based dance company ZATA OMM, and led by the award-winning William Yong. Through the lens of technology and dance, this production contemplates the reconstruction of paradise, and the concept of perfection. Premiering at Harbourfront Centre Theatre, February 5 - 8, 2020.

The 40th Anniversary Dora Mavor Moore Awards for the 2018-2019 season were handed out in a star-studded celebratory ceremony in Toronto on the evening of Tuesday, June 25 at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, hosted by the multi-talented, multi-award-winning Rick Miller, well-known for his widely acclaimed one-man shows that include MacHomer, BOOM and Bigger Than Jesus (Dora Award for Outstanding Performance, 2006).

Red Snow Collective Presents The World Premiere Of THE MONKEY QUEEN

RED SNOW COLLECTIVE presents the World Premiere of THE MONKEY QUEEN, written by Diana Tso, directed by William Yong, and performed by Diana Tso and Nick Eddie. The production weaves text, movement, visual art and music, and reimagines the ancient tale through the playwright's own personal journey as a Chinese-Canadian female artist. THE MONKEY QUEEN runs from November 15 - December 2, 2018 at the Theatre Centre Incubator (media night on November 16 at 7:30pm).
